From September 2025, working parents in England can access up to 30 hours of free childcare per week for children as young as 9 months old. This government initiative is a major boost for families, helping to ease the cost of childcare and support children’s early learning and development.
At Poplars Blossoms Nursery School, we’re proud to offer this funding to eligible families in Sherwood, Woodthorpe, Daybrook and surrounding areas. Whether your child is just 9 months old or getting ready to move on to preschool at The Willows, our nurturing and child-centred environment helps them feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
👶 Who is eligible?
You may be eligible if:
- You and your partner (if applicable) are working, including self-employed
- Each earns at least the National Minimum Wage for 16 hours a week
- Neither earns more than £100,000 annually
🕒 How do the hours work?
- You can claim up to 30 hours per week during term time (38 weeks), or
- Choose to stretch the hours across the full year — something we offer at Poplars Blossoms for greater flexibility
- Hours can be used flexibly – we’ll work with you to find the best pattern for your child and your family
- You’ll need to apply for a code and renew it every 3 months
